Sweden´s Southernmost Mountain range
Whether you are looking for a downhill skiing, cross-country skiing or just a simply an trek on the mountain the conditions in the area couldn’t be better. Funäsdalsfjällen is Sweden third largest skiing area with Sweden’s southern most mountain range with peeks higher than 1000 m above sea level. On Helagsfjället (1798m) you will find Sweden’s southernmost glacier.
Ramundberget, which is closest, offers downhill skiing. You can reach it by car in 5 minutes. Funäsdalen and Hamra/Tänndalen are also close by. All these ski resorts use natural snow which lies deep from November to May, with hardly any queues and ample space on the pists.
In direct connection to Fjälltunet lies Nordic-Skis cross-country tracks, one of the worlds largest prepared tracks. A paradise for cross-country skiers with a total of 300km of tracks. On the mountain side around Bruksvallarna there are marked paths leading to all the cottages where you can have a cup of coffee or a light meal.
