Summer i Bruksvallarna
Even during summer Bruksvallarna can offer a wide range of outdoor activities with endless hiking trails in an untouched environment, fields of wild orchids and large fishing waters. You will also find a variety of wild animals such as Musk oxen, bear and wolves. In the surrounding area are two “Same”-villages, Mittådalen and Ruvhtensijte and many mountain pastures that are still in use. There are plenty of charted hiking routes with cultural signs enabling the hiker to find his own way around.
Hiking
Around Bruksvallarn you will find endless hiking trails for all types of hikers. There are also cabins and places to eat along the routes. Mittåkläppen and Kariknallen are perfect destinations for those who wish to make shorter hikes, ending off the treck with a freshly baked waffle. The sitlift at Ramundberget is open all summer and enables you to easily reach the higher plateaus with Össjöstugan (4km) or Fjällnäs (2,3 miles) as your final destination. Mittåkläppen and Hamrafjällen are Swedens finest fields when in bloom with numerous wild orchids. A visit to this area during Midsummer is highly recommended. Paddling
Ljusnan is excellent for daily paddling trips, but there are also other waterways for longer stretches. Top Sport at Funäsdalen rents out canoes and can arrange to transport you together with the canoes to a point of your choice. They will then pick you up some hours later and transport you back to Funäsdalen. Tel: 0684 21435. Strapatser can organise White water rafting (tel: 0684 21121). They will arrange a white water adventure with canoes on one of the local waterways. You can also try tire rafting.
Fishing
Funäsdalsfjällen has numerous fishing lakes with plenty of char, salmon trout, grayling and whitefish. There are waters for every kind of fisherman from beginners to experts. Fishing license can be purchased at the local “Turistbyrå”, Top Sport, Bilisten in Bruksvallarna and many other service stations in the area. Golf
Two of Sweden’s most beautiful golf courses are situated around Bruksvallarna. Ljusnedals 18-hole course has, on numerous occasions these past few years, hosted the Swedish Pro-tour and offers a varied course. In Ramundberget there is a short 9-hole course that benefits from straight shots. There is a splendid view from both golf courses of the mountain range. The best season for golfing is from mid-July to September.
Riding
